Movie Picks

Hello every movie lover out there!

I’d like to share with you a movie that is near and dear to my heart…The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

Ever since I read the book, which was about two years ago (the same time I read Divergent) I was hooked. The first book and movie lured me into reading the rest of the series.

I recommend this book and movie to anyone who loves fantasy, action, and adventure.

If you do not know what the Mortal Instruments: City of Bonesis read below:

Clary Fray is just a normal girl when her world gets turned upside down when she begins drawing a symbol, as the Shadowhunters call it a rune.

She starts seeing a person in which her friend Simon cannot. This person follows Clary everywhere until she finally talks to him for the first time.

His name is Jace, Jace Wayland a Shadowhunter who tracks down demons and kills them for a living.

What Are You Reading?

Hi my lovely book lovers!

It is the girl of many colors here, and I have a very important question for you. What are you reading this week?

If anyone would like to know, I am reading Monument 14: Sky on Fire by Emmy Laybourne. I posted about the first book, which you can scroll down on my blog to find it.
I am also reading the graphic novel of Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.
You wouldn’t believe how excited I was to find this book. I’ve read the actual novel, and enjoyed it. The sequel was good as well.
Comment down below or click ‘ask’ on my blog and tell me what you are reading!
Thank you for reading!

The Girl of Many Colors

We all read those stories with a dash of adventure, fantasy, and wonder, will this ever happen to me? If you want adventure, explore the world for it. One day your dream of adventure will come true, and you’ll be happy that you went exploring for that special adventure.

My Original Poems

My Love is a Rose

They say true love isn’t real,

But I know for one thing that it can heal.

The most broken heart,

And the quietest girl.

My love for you is a rose.

With it’s sweet smile,

And it’s beautiful shade of red.

My love for you is a rose.

Prickly,

And bittersweet.

It can never go away,

Or else I’ll be left astray.

My love for you is a star.

Shining bright,

In the darkest night.

My love for you is a tree.

Standing tall in the sun,

Withering away in the winter wind.

All of its leaves, well, withered away.

Though they return in the spring.

My love for you will return,

Even it is lost.

And you are lost as well.

Sometimes I wish people would remember the good things in life rather than dwell upon the bad things.

Fresh Artists: Little Mix

Hello my fellow Mixers!

This is the Girl of Many Colors here.

   I know I haven’t done a music review in a while. When I say in a while, I seriously mean, a while!

The last artist I featured on my blog was Birdy (Jasmine van den Bogaerde).

Today is a group that a lot of people I know love and keep them close to their heart..Little Mix

Personally I love Little Mix. Their mixer of voices sound perfectly together. Hands down, I have to give this girl band a dumble thumbs up, if I had a third hand I would use it to give this band a triple thumbs up.

Little Mix was discovered through X-Factor, they were placed together.

Currently this lovely girl-band has two albums, DNA (released November 2012 in Britain), and Salute (released November 2013 in Britain).

Little Mix is known for their top hit 'Wings', featured on the ‘DNA’.

Whenever you get the chance to listen to this group, listen closely to the lyrics in their songs. They are heartwarming and beautifully written.

  Thank you for reading!

The Girl of Many Colors Presents: My Weekly Movie Review(s)

Hello my wonderful movie lovers!

Today’s topics I’d like to discuss are a few movies I’ve been watching not just once, but at least ten times.

Recently, I went to Half Price Books and when I found this movie on DVD I freaked out. Beforehand, I asked someone where I could find it, and I did! Yay!

You may be wondering which movie I maybe talking about…Little Manhattan. I have to admit this is my favorite childhood movie.

If you would like to know what the movie is about..read below:

Gabe (Josh Hutcherson) is just a ten-year-old boy who loves to explore the nine blocks in which he parents decided was as far as he could go in his town, Manhattan, New York. He loves the city, he loves sport, and he loves his parents, which are trying to get a divorce.

His parents still live together, and it is hard for Gabe. But, when an old friend from kindergarten, Rosemary Telesco (Charlie Ray), shows up at his karate class, he finally gets the courage to talk to her again.

Throughout the entire movie you experience a cute relationship between two young kids who finally fall in “love”.

Side Note: This movie was released in 2006.

Another movie that’s been on my #1 watch list is…drum roll please..The Parent Trap.

You can tell that there is a theme going here. Actors and actresses you see in very popular movies and TV shows.

I bet plenty of you have seen The Parent Trap. It has been playing on Disney Channel periodically, and now it is on Netflix.

This movie is about two identical twins (Lindsay Lohan) who meet at a sleepaway camp. Annie is from England, and Haley is from a small town in California. How could they’ve not known that they were twins? These two twins switch places and travel to opposite sides of the world.

What happens next? Watch The Parent Trap!

Thank you all for reading “Weekly Book Review”. Stay tuned for more movie, book, and music reviews from, me, the Girl of Many Colors!

My Weekly Book Review: The Giver

   Hi my lovely book lovers,

Today is the day! My book review has resurfaced for the week. ;)

You all know The Giver movie came out last friday, right? As usual, I like to read the books before I see the movies. I read The Giver in exactly..one day. I really liked it….a lot.

I give this book four stars out of five. I know, I know, my rating isn’t really identical to others.

Anyway…The Giver is about a boy named Jonas who lives in a dystopian world in which he cannot see in color. Also, there is no such thing as love. When Jonas reaches the age of twelve, he gets assigned a job. At first, they skipped his name..but it turns out, Jonas got chosen.

Immediately this book pulled me in, I spent a majority of the day reading this amazing book.

Most people recommend reading the book before you see the movie. I think it’s best for you to decide. Did you see the movie, and enjoyed it enough to read the book? Or did you read the book and want to see the movie badly? That’s up for you to decide.

Have a lovely week…and read forever!
